The churches and chapels on Stapleton Road are among the most striking buildings. The Kensington Baptish Church dates back to 1833. Older residents on the street remember church activities being one of their forms of entertainment. Although there are still church youth groups they are less well attended than they once were, maybe because there's a greater variety. Some buildings are no longer churches, such as Trinity Church which is now a community garden and music venue. There is also a greater variety of religion than there once was - the newest place of worship on the street is the Shahjala Jame Mosque.
